“Encore” is a group exhibition inspired by humankind’s enduring transfixion with music. Throughout history, music has remained central within the cultures of people all across the world thoroughly making a mark not only on the collective but also on the individual. Within this exhibition, visuals and sound intersect into a harmony of colors and painted forms. The works mounted on the gallery walls enchant viewers with brushstrokes seemingly dancing to visual rhythms and colors playfully harmonizing with each other to create captivating melodies.

Featured in this exhibit are the works of Winslomer Delo Santos, Francis Evangelista, Nixxio Castrillo, Ella Hipolito, Kwin Chi, Ronnie Lim, Art Lozano, Eric Masangkay, Ambit Mendoza, and Ted Peñaflor. Each artist introduces a unique visual flair to the overall theme of this exhibition. The variety in styles creates an overarching narrative of each individual’s highly personal relationship to music. Much like a musician composing lyrics, tones, and rhythms, each artist discovers the metaphorical sound that resonates with them. With their chosen mediums as instruments, they translate these melodies into a visual symphony on canvas thoroughly delighting their viewers.

“Encore” a Group Exhibit runs from June 19 - 30, 2024 at Galerie Joaquin Rockwell with an Artist Reception on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 5 PM.
