AN INTIMATE TALK WITH SANSO @ THE PODIUM, APRIL 1
Galerie Joaquin presents an intimate talk with artist Juvenal Sanso on composition and art appreciation on April 1, Saturday 6:00 pm at the 2nd floor lounge of The Podium, his last in a series of talks for the year 2006. The talk which marks the culmination of his outreach program for the viewing public aims to inform art enthusiasts and viewers on various elements of composition in the arts. Launched at Galerie Joaquin Main in P. Guevarra, San Juan last February 19, the project was followed up with a well-participated talk and gathering at Galerie Francesca in Festival Mall, Alabang.
The talk at The Podium aims to reach out to a larger public and help them become better informed, more critical and discerning viewers in their art appreciation and understanding. In his talk, Sanso incorporates the beauty of classical and contemporary art pieces with modern elements of advertising media. He will also be authenticating paintings during the evening.
The event is part of a series of events to be held at The Podium which kicks off with a still life and portraiture sketching session to be participated by members of the Guevarra Group of Artists on March 29 and 30 and an exhibit of a few select pieces from various periods of Sanso’s career.
Sanso is a world renowned artist known for his rich and vigorous depictions of flowers and landscapes. His works are included in the collections of top museums in the world such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of New York, the Smithsonian Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, the San Francisco Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Musee d’art Moderne in Paris, and the Rosenwald National Gallery of Washington, among others.
